This year, we were lucky enough to collaborate with The White Ribbon Campaign on their Walk a Mile in Her Shoes promotion. In addition to the professional services we put together for them, however, our team participated in last week’s walk!
The boys were decked out in some seriously foxy heels – from sparkly red peep toes to strappy pink sweethearts – and the ladies supported their initiative, following them through the downtown core of the city along with tons of other fantastic Torontonians participating in the big event. The promotion raised a ton of both funds and awareness for a cause pretty darn close to these hearts: men working to end men’s violence against women.
What can I say? The company that sashays together stays together.

You guys rocked. You’re creative was terrific and you were an integral part of the campaign in it’s inaugral year. Where other agencies balked, Espresso stepped up to the plate. Much love.

Most ridiculous campaign ever. I’m sure there are better ways than walking in someone’s shoes to really understand them.
Sheesh!
Very symbolic thou.

You’re absolutely right – donning a pair of heels doesn’t actually provide insight into the serious issues an entire portion of the population face. It’s indeed just a symbol… the intent of the campaign wasn’t so much to educate participants on the specifics of the issue so much as increase overall awareness of it among participants and those who weren’t aware of it – or the White Ribbon Campaign!
Besides, it was lots of fun. Hee.
