We, the Espresso Interns, want to share with you our favourite stories as discovered from all far-reaching corners of the internet! Every week, we are going to compile our favourite items and press them into a nice cup of links like a team of all-star baristas.
Daniel’s Pick: Wi-Fi Guerilla Marketing
A German car rental company created an inexpensive and unique advertising campaign by offering free wi-fi internet access in airports. When connecting, the server name was a headline about the rental company, and the first web page that shows up on your browser gives directions to where the company is located in the airport. I think this campaign is brilliant as it shows their message in an unused medium, and potential customers make positive associations with the company as they are offering a free service.
Zoe’s Pick: Intelligent Travel: Cultural, Authentic, Sustainable

This blog appeals to the senses of any dreamer, or any realist who is an avid traveler. I, for one, love the photography. But it isn’t just the alluring snapshots of other-worldly destinations, but the content that makes this my winner. The writing is fantastic, and the narrative has a very personable approach that speaks to you without dictating opinions. If you’re planning on an adventure this summer, or just want to feel connected to our global society, check it out.
Nathan’s Pick: Veer Marketplace Poster

Veer sent me this awesome 24×32 poster in the mail today! At somepoint in my dealings with Veer, I guess I gave them my address, because one day they started mailing me things. The first time I received something, I figured it was junk mail – but when I opened it, to my surprise, I found a beautiful catalogue of typefaces they had just launched. Every other month or so, I get a package from them just as a reminder that they have new products or services.
They never abuse my mailbox with spam, simply sending the occasional and beautiful high-quality brochure, poster, or mini-magazine. I keep a folder with everything they send me so that when I need a fresh idea, I just reach in and start flipping the pages. The quality also rekindles my love for print, which I wish I got to work with more. It just serves as a little reminder that Veer is the online destination for designer resources.
How are you getting your potential customers excited about your brand with little things that they will love?
