Game, Set, Design?

One of my favorite online celebrities Ze Frank recently pointed out a collaborative design event happening in the next couple of weeks: Layer Tennis.

Layer Tennis

What is it? Participating designers take turns editing one file back and forth in 15 minute intervals using Adobe Creative Suite 4. After each edit, the file is published (with commentary), and the audience can give their input on the file using the twitter hash tag #LYT. The best part of all is watching the graphics evolve as it gets passed back and forth. After viewing last season’s matches I have become extremely excited (my personal fave is J. Hutchinson versus J. Koxvold.

The first match from this season is already up, and you can view it here. There are some great designs, and the fact that it they had fifteen minutes for any given shot just makes it that much more impressive. Be sure to stay tuned on Friday at 3PM (EST) to see the next match.

Anyone have ideas for how to create something similar in the office?
