Happy #hohoto-lidays, Indeed!

Toronto has pretty much the sweetest geek community of all time.

Why would I say such a thing? Oh, it’s not the friendliness at the various unconferences, nor the excitement of meshing. This time, I’m saying it because they – in the last week – have raised over $12K for the Daily Bread Food Bank by creating, purely via Twitter, a little slice of amazing that they’re calling #hohoto. This made their loosey-goosey, informal network the eighth most powerful fundraiser for the food bank in all of 2008.

While I fully agree with @tamera that this is not an indication that brands can necessarily do the same thing, I sure am impressed to see people care this flipping much. The Infiltrators approve!
