I love starting my day with a strong espresso and a smart article.

How Not to do Public Relations on the Web talks about approaching our blogger friends as a human being rather than shooting out a mass release. Agreed. But this is one we haven’t seen much of yet: comment press releases.
I mean, we’re all too familiar with the spammy comments. “You love Toronto, you like fast things, you’re on the go? Get on the Go Train! Keep the tunes rolling with Speedy Batteries!” (Nope, that wasn’t entirely made up.) But a commented press release? Is this a joke? What PR exec in their right mind would think that anyone would respond positively to this?
You know what I love? Flyers in my mailbox. You know what I love even more? Press releases on my blog.
Right.
Suffice it to say, we’re not big fans of this sort of thing and we cannot wait for the day that agencies stop trying to convince client-side pros that this is a good idea. It just plain reflects poorly on everyone.
So have you seen any particularly hilarious ones lately?
