Welcome to Miami…

Is it Thursday already?

Time just flashes by when you’re busy busy busy and indeed I’ve been moving non-stop since arriving in Miami on Monday afternoon for ad:tech, checking things out for Espresso and blogging for the conference. But this experience was unlike any other advertising conference I’ve attended before—this time around I’ve been working with a great team of bloggers, including Steve Hall and Angela Natividad from Adrants, to cover the show for the official ad:tech blog.

I’ve been told Miami ad:tech is unlike any other. (If you’re not familiar with the organization, they do digital media oriented conferences year-round, across the globe—from Chicago to Shanghai, ad:tech is there!) The theme for this week was Hispanic and Latin digital marketing strategy and, while the original thesis for the show focused on the differences across markets, I’ve decided that there’s really no fundamental differences in the ways non-Hispanics and Hispanics consume and engage with social media, which I explain further in this blog post (summarized nicely as “Hispanics! Just like us!”).

You can check out the rest of my coverage from ad:tech here, or head over to Adrants for some supplementary insights as well as their usual clever content.

Paige! It as so great to meet you and have you write with us for the ad:tech blog. While this particular conference was a bit, ahem, more drama-fueled than most, I love the Miami show because it is so different from the other domestic shoes. Your articles were great and I hope you enjoyed it. Perhaps you’ll write for us again?
